Deshaun Watson

Coming into 2019, Deshaun Watson has plenty of room to be even better than last year. Watson came into the 2018 season fresh off of a torn ACL that ended his rookie season. With that being said, regression from his dynamics the year before was expected due to his insane numbers and getting confidence back in his legs. With one full healthy year behind him and an improved offensive line through the draft, Watson is sure to have a huge year.

Patrick Mahomes has become the favorite flavor to fantasy football owners, but going into the 2018 draft season, that role was Watson’s. Watson treated those who drafted him to a year that ranked him as the QB4 with 331.7 points. If he is able to put up that many points while growing confidence back in his knee and avoiding being sacked 62 times behind a revamped offensive line, which was the most in the NFL, he is going to have an incredible season.

Having a receiving corps of the league’s best receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, in addition to Will Fuller and Keke Coutee will allow Watson to put up gaudy numbers. He put up 4,165 passing yards with 26 touchdowns in 2018. These are statistics that will only grow with confidence and with Fuller being available for more than seven games (hopefully).

Watson has been overlooked early on when it comes to many fantasy football rankings. However, if you are looking to pick a quarterback early with Mahomes off the board, take the shot on Watson. Enjoy the success he gives you through his ability with his arm and his legs. He is someone to expect to find on plenty of fantasy championship rosters at season’s end.
