Baker Mayfield

If you want to win your fantasy football league, you have to make picks that give you an edge. Sometimes, those picks could be considered risks. This is a risk that is bound to pay off. I have not named Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck and that will not be happening. Baker Mayfield has earned a spot above two of the league’s best quarterbacks based on his swagger and the moves the Cleveland Browns made to completely move Mayfield into the “elite” fantasy quarterback echelon.

The offense that Mayfield runs involves Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Antonio Callaway, David Njoku and the two big acquisitions, Kareem Hunt (after an eight-week suspension) and multi-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. While the players’ stock involved in the offense may have fallen, Mayfield’s stock only continues to rise to the highest of heights.

Mayfield jolted the Browns to a 7-7 record in games that he played following a year when the Browns went 0-16. He took his game to an even higher level when Freddie Kitchens became the offensive coordinator.

Producing 240.1 Fantasy points in just 14 games while changing offensive coordinators midseason is something to only be impressed by for fantasy owners. With Kitchens now taking over as head coach and a stacked offense to play with, Mayfield is worth a look in the first five rounds, possibly on the excitement of the player alone.
