1. Blake Jarwin, TE

Lost in all the talk about the return of Jason Witten this season is the emergence of Blake Jarwin in 2018. Another former undrafted player, Jarwin joined the Cowboys in 2017 out of Oklahoma State. He was with the practice squad for the majority of his rookie campaign but was called up to the active roster in October as the Philadelphia Eagles were trying to poach him.

Jarwin appeared in just one game as a rookie and received no passing targets. Even without him doing much as a rookie, the hopes in Big D were high for Jarwin — even though he had minimal stats collegiately. During his three seasons at Oklahoma State, Jarwin never had more than 19 receptions or two touchdowns in a single season.

Entering the season, he was fighting for the starting spot alongside Geoff Swaim but lost out to the former seventh-round pick. Jarwin also struggled to make plays for the team but eventually started to see it all come together.

He finished the season with 27 receptions for 307 yards and had three touchdowns — all of which came in his breakout game in Week 17. Facing the New York Giants, Jarwin was a machine as he hauled in seven receptions for 119 yards and three scores.

He then went into the playoffs and added five catches for 32 yards proving he was still in the plans for the team as they tried to make a run in those two games.

Jarwin will be a restricted free agent after the season, meaning Dallas controls his rights. However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try and lock him up now before he raises his asking price during a contract year.
