3. Get a shot at premium young players

By some miracle the Giants win the NFC East and head into the playoffs, that’s fantastic for them. Big Blue is right back on track, and with a likely successful young quarterback, right where they need to be heading into 2020.

However, there is a very slim chance that they actually do get that many meaningful wins in 2019. So, whether by trade, free agency, or draft, they need to get some solid young talents on the roster by the time 2020 rolls around.

The NFL trade deadline has been more active than ever in recent years, and it seems that 2019 will continue the trend in the direction of “absolutely insane.” The Giants should definitely be capitalizing on this, as the NFL’s annual sellers will inevitably be having a fire sale that could include some very talented players.

This is not to say that the Giants should be giving up the farm to get one high-level talent. Dave Gettleman needs to be smart with his trades, and there is certainly talent to be acquired if he stays within a reasonable range.

New York could be in for a totally transformed roster by the end of the season, and with a high draft pick, fans could be in for a very exciting season in 2020. As long as the Giants stay smart, that is.
