While the Cowboys and DeMarcus Lawrence were going back and forth on his new deal, the team was also looking to add more pass rushers to help Lawrence once the deal was done. With the Miami Dolphins electing to go with wholesale changes, the Boys started to look at Robert Quinn as a potential member of their team.

Miami allowed Quinn to go on a visit to Dallas, which was enough to persuade him to sign off on a trade. After some time, the move was done and the Cowboys sent a mere sixth-round pick to the Dolphins for a player who had 19 sacks in 2013.

That may feel like forever ago, but Quinn was in just his third season when he hit that mark and still has some gas in the tank at 29 years of age. A former first-round pick, Quinn spent seven seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams before being traded to Miami last year.

In his lone season with the Fins, Quinn had 38 tackles and 6.5 sacks. The prior season with Los Angeles, he had 32 tackles and 8.5 sacks. While he’s not the same player who had three-straight double-digit sack seasons from 2012-through-214, he still can bring the pressure. Not to mention, he has extra motivation after being traded twice in the last calendar year.
