This past season, the Philadelphia Eagles failed to defend their Super Bowl title. What numbers are important to the club’s fortunes this upcoming season?

In 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles won 13 games during the regular season, captured the NFC East and down the stretch, overcame injuries to several key players on the way to the club’s first Super Bowl title and first NFL championship since 1960.

One year later, Doug Pederson’s team struggled to find its rhythm for much of the season. But the club was able to overcome a 4-6 start, win five of its final six contests and finish 9-7. It gave the Birds an opportunity to defend their Lombardi Trophy.

While the Eagles did manage to knock off the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in the Wild Card Round, Pederson’s squad squandered a 14-0 first-quarter lead at the Superdome in a Divisional Round loss to the New Orleans Saints.

So this talented squad got busy this offseason trying to fix some of its shortcomings. In the process, the franchise locked up three-year quarterback Carson Wentz for the next few years courtesy of a lucrative contract extension. Meanwhile, it’s safe to say that general manager Howie Roseman has done quite the job fortifying this team in terms of filling some holes and rebuilding its depth.

Among the moves was the team trading for Chicago Bears’ workhorse running back Jordan Howard. It added defensive tackles Malik Jackson (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Hassan Ridgeway, the latter via a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. It brought back former Eagles DeSean Jackson and Vinny Curry via trade and free agency, respectively.

So as this statistical series continues, what three numbers stand out the most when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles this upcoming season?
