A Packers receiver no one seems to be talking about heading into 2019 is second-year wideout Equanimeous St. Brown. Though he didn’t have quite as impressive of a rookie year as teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown will undoubtedly be a huge part of head coach Matt LaFleur’s plans this coming season.

Most of the attention from fans and beat writers this offseason has been dedicated to hyping up Valdes-Scantling and, of course, Davante Adams. As a rookie in 2018, Valdes-Scantling was arguably the Packers’ second-best receiver, finishing the season with 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Adams had his best year as a pro, catching 111 passes for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Then there’s Jake Kumerow, who Aaron Rodgers publicly complimented during a media session a few weeks ago, noting that he was a fan of the wideout. Kumerow, a former undrafted free agent in 2015 out of Wisconsin-Whitewater, caught eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in five appearances last season.

But St. Brown is the type of big-bodied slot receiver LaFleur’s offense caters to. A similar offense to the likes of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and Rams head coach Sean McVay, St. Brown could see success in the slot and in bunch formations for LaFleur. We’ve seen it happen for receivers like Pierre Garcon and Cooper Kupp in San Francisco and Los Angeles, respectively. At 6-5 and 215 pounds, St. Brown caught 21 receptions for 328 yards in 2018.
