The 30 best quarterbacks in NFL history

15. Best NFL quarterbacks of all time: Bart Starr
The Green Bay Packers found a huge steal in the 1956 draft as they selected Bart Starr in the 17th round out of Alabama. Originally a backup, Starr began to split time up until 1959 when Vince Lombardi took over as the head coach.
Lombardi handed the reins to Starr and the two did nothing but win together. During their time together, the Packers won five NFL titles and two Super Bowls, which happened to be in Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II.
During that run, Starr was able to win the 1966 NFL MVP Award for a campaign that saw him complete 62.2 percent of his passes for 2,257 yards with 14 touchdowns against three interceptions. Incredibly accurate, Starr had the best completion percentage in the league when he retired with 57.4 percent — a number that looks less impressive now that the league has become more pass-friendly.
Starr played for Green Bay until 1971 and when he retired, he owned a record of 94-57-6 and was an incredible 9-1 in the postseason. After his career was over, Starr got into coaching with the Packers. He didn’t have as much success in that endeavor but is one of the most beloved figures in Green Bay history.
