Best Newcomer: Garrett Bradbury

This one seems like a bit of an obvious choice. The Minnesota Vikings have been on the prowl for a good offensive line for years. To answer the call, they drafted Garrett Bradbury with the 18th overall pick this spring. He will be asked to make a substantial impact from the jump. Bradbury brings flexibility and versatility to an offensive line that has been near the bottom of the league.

Bradbury was considered by many to be the best interior lineman in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Vikings want to establish the run game early and often next season and it all starts up front. The rookie out of NC State is the most important player up front because he will have the most pressure out of the gate.

The 18th overall selection is explosive at the point of attack and can quickly get to the second level. His athleticism on the interior will be valuable in the run game. He can also move quickly in the screen game to throw blocks down the field and spring big gains.

The offensive line typically doesn’t get a ton of praise. However, Minnesota’s recent history should make Bradbury’s emergence that much more special. The Vikings did not have a lot of roster turnover this summer, so Bradbury stands out even more. He will be the most important — and best — newcomer on the roster in 2019.
