3. Ben Roethlisberger – QB

What? Ben Roethlisberger isn’t No. 1 on this list? How could that be, he’s set so many Steelers passing records.

First off, Roethlisberger being at No. 3 on this list is not meant to discredit what he has done in a Pittsburgh uniform. He has been great for the Steelers. But there are just two players that accomplished more than he did during the 21st century in black and gold. Despite this, an argument can easily be made that Roethlisberger is the greatest quarterback to ever play for Pittsburgh.

He’s helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls since arriving to the team in 2004. He’s about to begin his 16th season with the franchise and he holds just about every Pittsburgh passing record in the team’s history.

Roethlisberger currently holds the Steelers all-time records for career passing yards, career passing touchdowns, career completion percentage, career quarterback rating, and also the records for passing yards and touchdowns thrown in a single season.

He holds many more Pittsburgh records, but we don’t all day to sit here and go over all of them.

Despite all of his record-breaking performances in a Steelers uniform, Roethlisberger has never earned a First-Team All-Pro selection or any major awards outside of Offensive Rookie of the Year during his professional football career.

The best of the best are recognized as All-Pros in the NFL and the Pittsburgh quarterback not earning a single selection during his time in the league is part of the reason why he wasn’t picked for the top spot on this list.
