5. Week 6 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

This is the highest-ranked home game on the list for the Vikings. They host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. The Vikings beat the Eagles last season after a humiliating loss in the 2018 NFC Championship. Nick Foles is gone, leaving Carson Wentz at the helm. He has split his two career starts against the Vikings. Last year’s matchup was an exciting affair with Minnesota hanging on to win, 23-21.

Both teams pride themselves on their outstanding defense. This matchup will feature incredible pass rushers and defensive backs on both squads. The passing attacks should be limited a bit, making the run game that much more important.

These two teams have a bit of recent history and will both fight for a playoff spot in 2019. This game has the potential to be a deciding factor in playoff seeding when it’s all said and done.

The Eagles nabbed Andrew Sendejo in free agency, a long-time member of the Minnesota secondary. Sendejo had his ups and downs with the Vikings. He could play a huge role in this one as someone familiar with the calls. While I do not think that is a huge deal, it is worth at least mentioning in passing.

I fully expect U.S. Bank Stadium to be rocking when the Eagles visit. After all, they did spoil the Vikings chances of playing a Super Bowl at home in 2017.
