Minnesota Vikings: Ranking non-divisional games in 2019
By Luke Parrish
4. Week 13 at Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have dominated the Vikings of late. Minnesota hasn’t defeated the birds since 2009 with Seattle winning five straight. The notorious Blair Walsh miss in 2016 is the staple of the relationship between these two organizations. Outside of that game, Seattle has had their way with the Vikings. The Seahawks outscored Minnesota, 130-54, in the other four games during that span.
This will also be back-to-back Monday Night Football meetings between the two. They played a Monday Night Football game last December in Seattle and will do the same in 2019. This could be a revenge game of sorts for the Vikings. Both teams will fight for a playoff spot, whether they be as wild-card teams or divisional champions.
A late-season battle in the northwest has remarkable implications. Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. However, Seattle has slowly lost several key pieces on defense. This could finally be the year the Vikings get over the obstacle that is the Seahawks.
Weather, playoff implications and physical play will headline this matchup. The primetime aspect of this one is scary for Vikings fans, though. Will they finally reverse their fortunes? Can Kirk Cousins overcome the mental side of big moments? Only time will tell. You definitely want to tune in to this one.
