2. Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints – Week 3

Michael Thomas was an absolute steal for the New Orleans Saints in the second round three years ago. He had two good years to open his career, but Thomas took his play to another level in 2018. The 6-3 wide receiver led the league in receptions with 125. He also recorded 1,405 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Subsequently, he was voted a First Team All-Pro.

It’s hard to see Griffin having a shot at shutting down Thomas. There’s a three-inch height difference and Thomas has one of the best quarterbacks of all-time on his side. Drew Brees is so accurate that he’s completed more than seventy percent of his passes in each of the past three seasons.

In fact, Brees has completed 67.3 percent of his passes during his entire career. Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson has only completed more than 67.3 percent of throws in just one of his seven seasons.

Honestly, no matter how many leaps forward Griffin takes this offseason, he still won’t be able to shut down a player like Thomas. With the way the game is today, an off day for a receiver like Thomas is four or five catches for 50 to 60 yards. I don’t even know if Griffin will be able to hold the Saints star to that though.
