A year ago, the Seattle Seahawks not only watched a lot of familiar faces in terms of players leave the franchise in different ways but the club made numerous changes to the coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and defensive coordinator Kris Richard were replaced by Brian Schottenheimer and Ken Norton Jr., respectively. And the team’s new offensive line coach would be Mike Solari, who was in his second stint with the organization.

From 2012-15, the Seahawks ranked third, fourth, first and third, respectively, in the NFL in rushing yards. But the team slipped to 25th and 23rd, respectively, the following two seasons in the same category. But that all changed this past year as no team in the NFL ran for more yards.

Led by the quartet of Chris Carson (1,151), Mike Davis (514), Rashaad Penny (419) and quarterback Russell Wilson (376), Seattle ran for exactly 160 yards per contest.

Still, it’s worth noting that while Wilson enjoyed another productive year both on the ground and through the air, he was sacked a career-high 51 sacks.

That’s a number that has to change this upcoming year, despite the fact that team’s offense produced 50 offensive touchdowns while Pete Carroll’s club turned over the football an NFL-low 11 times. And there’s a new face on the offensive line in left guard Mike Iupati, late of the Arizona Cardinals.
