The Chicago Bears are among the Super Bowl contenders in 2019. While some may disagree, here are five reasons why they are.

The Chicago Bears had a magical 2018 season. They finished 12-4 and won the NFC North title. They had fun all season until the double-doink ended it all. In 2019, the players and coaches use that playoff failure as motivation to go further.

The front office made some tweaks to the rosters and let go of some players who helped the team win games last season. The feeling at Halas Hall is that this season will be even better than last season.

While hope is running high around Chicago, the national sentiment isn’t the same. Many experts pick the Bears to regress in 2019, some going as far as saying that they will miss the playoffs. One ESPN writer also says that the Bears are overrated.

As Michael Jordan said in his Hall of Fame speech, all that negativity is another log thrown onto the fire. The Bears take all that negative talk and use it as fuel to win.

Even with some expecting bad things for the Bears, some of them have a contingency plan just in case. The Bears received the most bets on the Super Bowl than any other team. Also, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky received the most bets for NFL MVP. They may not believe in the Bears, but they’ll bet on them secretly.

It’s been some time since the words Super Bowl and the Chicago Bears were used in the same sentence. In the past decade linking the Bears to just a winning record would make fans happy. What happened last season changed all of that. Now the players dream big, and the fans stand for nothing less than big.

Here are five reasons why the Chicago Bears are Super Bowl contenders in 2019.
