Pittsburgh Steelers: 3 Vital statistics for 2019 season

He is the most prolific passer in the proud history of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger made his NFL debut back in Week 2 of his rookie year (2004), replacing an injured Tommy Maddox at Baltimore.
Roethlisberger and the club took their lumps that day but he rapidly developed into one of the better quarterbacks in this league and has the numbers to back it up. He ranks sixth in NFL history in passing yards (56,194) and seventh in scoring tosses (363).
But at times, the 15-year signal-caller can be a little haphazard with the football. That was very evident in 2018 when “Big Ben” wound up leading the league with 5,129 yards through the air while serving up 34 touchdown passes. But Roethlisberger also came up with an NFL-high 16 interceptions. And in two lost fumbles and the prolific signal-caller was “credited” with 18 of the Steelers’ 26 turnovers.
The veteran hurler will be counted on even more this upcoming season. He won’t have the luxury of wide receiver Antonio Brown, who hauled in at least 100 passes in an NFL-record six consecutive seasons. And the Steelers certainly can’t afford for Roethlisberger to have another stretch run as was the case a year ago, when he threw 13 touchdown passes but was also picked off a costly nine times.
