2. Los Angeles Rams – Weeks 5 and 14

The Seahawks lost both games they played against the Rams last season. However, Seattle played really well against the eventual NFC champions in both of those games. In Week 5 last October, the Seahawks lost, 33-31. Then in Week 10, they lost, 36-31.

Losing two games to the conference champions by a combined seven points is a great accomplishment for a team that was supposed to be retooling last season. Still, it has to burn knowing how close they were to winning both of those games.

The Rams finished 13-3 last season, beating out the 10-6 Seahawks for the division title. This year, the competition could be even closer. With Todd Gurley‘s effectiveness up in the air and the Rams losing several starters, the Seahawks might be able to steal the series from the Rams this year.

Just because the door is opening for potential upsets doesn’t mean it will be easy though. The Rams are well coached and have a roster dotted with former and current stars. Even if Gurley isn’t himself, the Rams still have Jared Goff, Andrew Whitworth and perhaps the best three-man wide receiver corps in the league.

Defensively, Aaron Donald will be pursuing his record-tying third Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019. The unit also features former Pro Bowlers in Clay Matthews, Marcus Peters, and Aqib Talib. The team also signed safety Eric Weddle this offseason. Weddle went to his sixth Pro Bowl in 2018.

The division rivalry developing between the Rams and Seahawks is exciting. After the two close, intense meeting between the teams last season, Weeks 5 and 14 will be must-watch TV.
