In the early 1990s, the Buffalo Bills took four shots at winning the franchise’s first Super Bowl, but unfortunately, they lost all four. Still, this was one of the more dominant teams in the history of the NFL, led by three offensive stars that are some of the best to ever do it at their specific positions.

All three men are currently enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as quarterback Jim Kelly, running back Thurman Thomas and wide receiver Andre Reed are all iconic players. For Thomas and Reed, they were one of the better wide receiver/running back duos in the history of the NFL. Both are the all-time leaders at their positions in Bills’ history.

Reed and Thomas played together from 1988 through the 1999 NFL season, leading the Bills to the playoffs in 10 of their 12 seasons as teammates. In total, the tandem was named to the Pro Bowl 12 times, and are both a part of the Bills Wall of Fame.

When Reed retired, he was near the top of nearly every statistical receiving category. He is still widely considered one of the more productive wideouts in the history of the game. Thomas, the 1991 NFL MVP, was a durable running back, leading the AFC in rushing yards on three occasions, while finishing as the Bills’ all-time leading rusher.
