Buffalo Bills: College position groups to watch for 2020 NFL Draft
By Luke Parrish
The Buffalo Bills have a young core in place but which college football position groups should they be watching for the 2020 NFL Draft?
The start of the 2019 NFL season for the Buffalo Bills is right around the corner. So, too, is the college football season. Subsequently, the Bills and the 31 other teams are beginning to build their big boards for the draft with a long list of potential prospects.
Typically, we can look at certain players that may or may not be fits for each team, especially this time of year with a full season of college football play ahead. However, this is different. This is a look at positional groupings that hold value for the Buffalo Bills for the 2020 NFL Draft.
Across the country, elite college football programs — Alabama, Clemson, etc. — have incredible talent and depth. There are also some cases of smaller programs pumping out NFL talent at one position or another.
The 2020 NFL Draft class is expected to be loaded with talent from top to bottom at nearly every position. For the Buffalo Bills, a draft filled with skill players could be exactly what they need. With a young quarterback and a handful of pieces on the defensive side, Buffalo is ready to compete. A strong draft next April is the final step in the plan.
I will look through several positional units that will have players drafted next spring. Big schools and smaller schools will be featured on this list. This isn’t about showing favoritism to the big programs in Power 5 conferences. Rather, it’s about what the Bills need to do for the future of the franchise and the postition groups at various schools that can help them do just that.
