Biggest Storyline: Will Jameis Winston elevate his current level of play?

Jameis Winston is the biggest storyline to follow this year during training camp. Arians has coached several elite level quarterbacks throughout his coaching career. Will he be able to mentor and guide Winston into the face of the franchise?

Winston has struggled with off the field issues since his college days at Florida State. Most of all, he has struggled on the field as well. Remember, he had a tough time replacing Fitzpatrick during a stretch last season while mired in personal issues.

Winston is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He must play well to earn another contract for next season and beyond. All eyes will be on Arians and Winston as camp plays out this summer.

Will Arians be able to correct Winston’s pocket presence which resulted in turnovers? He has thrown double digit interceptions every season since his rookie season of 2015. In his career, Winston has thrown for 14,628 yards with 88 touchdowns and 58 interceptions.

It will be interesting to follow the interactions of Winston and Arians. Will Arians have the patience or will he give Gabbert the opportunity to become his starter? The job is apparently Winston’s to lose. Would Tampa Bay shock everyone and deal Winston away during camp or after?
