3 Ways Cleveland Browns can win Super Bowl 54
By Dan Parzych
1. Mayfield plays at MVP level
Going all the way back to the NFL Draft in 2018, there were some critics who believed that Cleveland was making a huge mistake going with Mayfield at No. 1, mainly because the case could be made that someone like Sam Darnold would have been a better option.
Mayfield still has plenty to prove since one year doesn’t determine what kind of NFL career a player is going to have, but if his rookie campaign is any indication of what to expect, the Browns should feel confident in finally having a reliable quarterback.
And now that Mayfield has one of the league’s most dangerous receivers in Beckham to work with in the passing game on top of the rest of the weapons on offense, all eyes will be on the Browns youngster to see how much his game elevates in 2019.
Making the claim that Mayfield will need to play at a MVP level in order for Cleveland to live up to the Super Bowl hype may sound unfair for a player entering his second NFL season, but also he may not have any other choice.
The amount of talented teams in the AFC alone, whether it happens to be the Kansas City Chiefs or New England Patriots, already put the Browns in a tough position from a competitive perspective.
But if Mayfield can play at a high level to a point where his name is thrown in the conversation for MVP, Cleveland will be in great position for that Super Bowl run.
