The Dallas Cowboys look to defend their NFC East title this season but first have to answer these 5 burning questions as they begin their 2019 training camp

After winning the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys look to get back to the postseason again in 2019. Their first step in that process begins when they kick off their 2019 Training Camp in Oxnard, California on July 27.

Getting the players on the field will be a welcome development for a team that had an interesting offseason. First, there was the contract dispute between the team and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. The back and forth went on for a while and Lawrence seemed as though he may be headed out the door at one point.

Then, they finally came to terms on a five-year deal with him but that didn’t stop the contract discussions. It just turned the attention to quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Amari Cooper, linebacker Jaylon Smith, cornerback Byron Jones and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Dallas also had some uncomfortable headlines as well. Former defensive tackle David Irving decided to smoke pot rather than play football and took some shot at head coach Jason Garrett when he left. There was also another suspension levied against defensive end Randy Gregory.

The Cowboys also had some poor publicity as both Ezekiel Elliott and defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford had videos released that showed them in compromising situations. Elliott shoved a security guard and Crawford was in a bar fight with several bouncers.

With all this noise, the team is surely excited to hit the field in Oxnard and start to make noise for their play. When they do finally arrive, there will be some questions to answer which we dive into here.
