The Kansas City Chiefs made huge strides this offseason and has them rising in our pre-training camp 2019 NFL Power Rankings

Throughout the NFL, training camps are about ready to get rolling. Every team enters the summer program looking for a chance to get after the coveted Lombardi Trophy, which is given to the winner of the Super Bowl each year.

The New England Patriots were the last team to hoist the title proudly (their sixth time doing so) and they enter this season ready to defend their crown. That will be easier said than done as many of the franchises vying for a shot at knocking them off got to work this offseason trying to rebuild their teams in an effort to win it all.

No team showed that more than the Kansas City Chiefs. Already boasting the NFL MVP under center in Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs were closer than any team to knocking off the Pats last year. They even took New England to overtime in the AFC Championship game and had they gotten the ball in Mahomes’ hands, they may be champions now. The problem was, their defense allowed New England to score a touchdown on the opening possession as they won the game.

Determined to improve that defense, the Chiefs went out and made some big signings in an effort to ensure they can get the ball to Mahomes more often. But was it enough to put them on top? That’s the question we answer in this pre-training camp 2019 NFL Power Rankings.
