C.J. Prosise, RB

Besides Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, no other running backs are guaranteed final spots on the roster or significant roles on the team. It just happens to be that C.J. Prosise has had the most opportunities to catch on and is now approaching the end of the line.

Seattle selected Prosise out of Notre Dame back in the third-round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Prosise had been a breakout star his senior year in college. It was his only year as the team’s primary ball carrier, however.

Originally, it looked like Prosise might play a big role on the Seahawks. After all, Christine Michael led the team with 469 rushing yards in Prosise’s rookie season.

However, Prosise has only appeared in 16 games during his three-year career. He ended up on injured reserve (IR) in both 2017 and 2018. Because of these consistent injuries, Prosise has never been able to fully display his skills.

At this point, Prosise is just fighting for a spot on the roster. Rookie Travis Homer and fourth-year pro J.D. McKissic will have the leg up on Prosise unless he lights up training camp. Injuries have led to a lack of availability, which has permanently damaged Prosise’s career. We’ll see if he can salvage what’s left this year.
