Busts can make your fantasy football season end prematurely, depending on where you take them. Here is are the top potential busts at each position.
Every year, fantasy football owners do all the homework possible to avoid the big bust in the first round that will derail their season. Whether it is a first-round bust or middle-round guy you hope to be the man off your bench, busts are involved all throughout the draft.
Le’Veon Bell in 2018 is the perfect example of a first-round bust who can destroy your season as owners selected him with either the first or second overall choice last year and did not get a single point out of him.
Another one that comes to mind from last year is Royce Freeman, who was projected as one of the running backs to break out and take over as the bell cow of the Denver Broncos. Instead, he completely flopped, making him a complete bust and released by fantasy football owners in the first few weeks of the season.
Wide receiver Allen Robinson did the same as many owners were excited about his return. Unfortunately, he didn’t offer nearly the value that owners had hoped in relation to where many drafted him.
Avoiding busts in any way possible has created certain strategies for fantasy football owners, like making the safest pick rather than taking a bigger risk a sleeper, the “No-Quarterback’ draft strategy and a simple one of crossing players off who have concerns (one way or another) that could lead to them being a bust.
No matter which strategy you employ, we’re here to try and aid fantasy football owners in avoiding busts. As such, let’s take a look at the biggest potential bust at each position for the 2019 season.
