Biggest Bust RB: Phillip Lindsay, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay stormed onto the scene a season ago, producing a Pro Bowl season as an undrafted rookie. With that said, you would expect him to be the bell cow for Denver going into the season but that is not the case right now.

Denver offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello has already stated that he has plenty of interest in utilizing both Royce Freeman and Lindsay in the backfield this year, even comparing them to Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman in Atlanta, which means a committee is on the horizon.

A running back by committee is terrifying for fantasy football owners — not worth the headache whatsoever. Lindsay has immense talent and that showed. But, unfortunately, spending a pick in the fourth or fifth round on a running back who is going to be in a committee isn’t worth it. Freeman currently has an ADP in the 11th round in 10-man leagues, per FantasyPros, which says it all about Lindsay.

In PPR, he finished as the 13th best running backs and many fans are going to remember what he showed on the field last season — don’t be the one to fall for that. His value is more seen as a FLEX rather than an RB2, a spot many figured he would be occupying in the 2019 season.

Do not find yourself believing the rookie hype from last year and taking Lindsay too early. Yes, he will still have value — but nowhere near the point where he is being drafted currently.
