Biggest Bust TE: Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers

What has Hunter Henry done to deserve his fifth overall ranking at tight end heading into 2019? To this point in his career, he has never finished even as a top-10 tight end in fantasy football.

It seems that many automatically assume Philip Rivers will utilize the tight end like years past when he and Antonio Gates had all their success. Gates and Rivers had a chemistry that cannot just be fully replicated.

If you are selecting Henry over the likes Evan Engram or Eric Ebron, expect him to be wind up being a bust for your team. Engram is going into a season where he will be the top weapon for the Giants not named Saquon Barkley. Ebron is coming off a career-year where he finished as the fourth-best tight end in fantasy in 2018 as he became Andrew Luck’s go-to target in the red zone.

Meanwhile, Henry is coming off a season where he tore his ACL. In no way should he be ranked like he is in the consensus given his unproven play and injury history.

Tight ends are a tough position to predict, but I would rather build my bench rather in the mid-rounds than pick a tight end like him in the sixth or seventh rounds with these two names being positioned after him. The hype is there for Henry, but with so many hands to feed on the Chargers at this point, it’s hard to predict a top-five season out of Henry.
