Minnesota Vikings: 5 Potential Hall of Fame candidates on current roster
By Luke Parrish
The 2019 Hall of Fame ceremony is right around the corner. Do the Minnesota Vikings have any current players who will make it to Canton?
The 2019 NFL season kicks off next week with the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 1. The Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremonies will commence on Saturday, Aug. 3. The Minnesota Vikings currently have 14 members in the Hall of Fame. The most recent inductee was Randy Moss in 2018.
But for every legend in the Hall, many more are left out. Getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is no easy task, and rightfully so. Jim Marshall is one of the most beloved Vikings in franchise history and fans have made it quite clear that he deserves a bust in Canton.
The upcoming inductions raise an interesting question, though: Which current members of the Minnesota Vikings have the best shot at Canton once their careers wrap up?
The Vikings certainly have a ton of talent on their roster heading into the 2019 campaign. Aside from a Linval Joseph and Kirk Cousins, the core of the roster was built through the draft. The Vikings have grown much of their talent, and all of the stars on the team are home-grown.
Before we get started, I want to point your attention to one extra legend. Adrian Peterson is no longer on the roster, but he is a Hall of Fame running back. Peterson spent the majority of his career in purple and gold and will almost certainly get into the Hall once time allows. But for now, let’s stick to the current members of the Minnesota Vikings.
These are the five players with the best shot to make the Hall of Fame down the road.
