1. Early returns on Matt LaFleur seem promising

As much as we can talk about the Green Bay Packers players and what’s going on with them at training camp through the first few days, there’s no question that Matt LaFleur is the main event. Fans and players alike appear excited to see what a young and seemingly innovative offensive mind can bring to the table, especially stumbling out of the stale malaise that McCarthy left everyone in.

Though we’re just a handful of days into LaFleur’s training camp, everything seems to be trending in the right direction in this regard. Cheesehead TV writer Andy Herman noted that LaFleur was arguably the biggest standout of the first few days of Packers camp with how he was simply commanding the team, in addition to the flashes of play-calling he was showing with his group.

On top of that, perhaps the most important piece of the puzzle in Aaron Rodgers had something to say as well. Per CBS Sports, Rodgers noted that there is still a lot of time needed for everyone to get up to speed and start picking everything up but that the early signs of how thing were going were something the quarterback felt “good” about.

Time will certainly paint a clearer picture of what LaFleur will be as a head coach in the NFL. After all, these are his first full practices holding the position in this league. Having said that, for a team that is looking to turn things around and really make some noise out of the NFC North, things are looking up under the direction of LaFleur.
