4 Reasons Kansas City Chiefs should trade for Melvin Gordon

Plenty left in the tank
Compared to some of the players that get drafted into the NFL these days, Melvin Gordon was a little older than most when he entered the league in 2015 at the age of 22. Still, he’s only 26 years old and he probably has at least four or five more highly productive seasons left in him.
Some could even make the claim that Gordon hasn’t even reached his full potential yet. He’s coming off arguably the best year of his short career and it came during a season that saw him miss four games.
Since 2016, Todd Gurley and Ezekiel Elliott are the only two running backs in the league that have gained more total yards from scrimmage than Gordon. It’s not like he’s been a part of one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses during this time period either.
The Chargers have been productive on offense during the last three years, but it’s not hard to imagine Gordon putting up even better numbers in a Chiefs’ uniform given the amount of weapons they already have on the offensive side of the ball.
Because of the position he plays out on the field, durability is always going to be a concern with Gordon. He’s been banged up a bit during his career so far, but he’s still appeared 86 percent of the Chargers games since 2015.
