The Dallas Cowboys kicked off training camp on Saturday, July 27 and there are already some players turning heads during the early practices. Here are three such players.

The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their 2019 training camp this past weekend in Oxnard, CA, which was a nice change from their offseason contract discussions. Ever since their 2018 season came to an end, the Cowboys have been solely focused on addressing contract issues.

First was the extension of defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. After playing this past season on the franchise tag, Lawrence was again tagged by Dallas and a game of chicken ensued. Things reportedly got heated but in the end, D-Law and the Cowboys front office came to terms on a five-year deal.

That didn’t put an end to the contract talks though as Dallas then switched gears as two key members of the offense are entering their final season — Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. Dallas understands those two need to be extended but there’s been no progress of note on either side.

With those two still needing to get their deals done, Dallas suddenly finds another player front and center. Running back Ezekiel Elliott, who has two years left on his rookie deal, decided to hold out of camp as he seeks to be given a new contract.

All that will work itself out behind the scenes, but the fact that players are on the field playing football gives us something else to discuss besides the player’s money.

Here, we look at the members of the team who are in Oxnard and identify three standouts from the early portion of camp.
