3. Dak Prescott, Quarterback

Quarterback coach Jon Kitna isn’t the only coach saying he wants to go deep more often as new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is also echoing these statements. So far in the early portions of workouts, Moore has been dialing up more passes downfield and star quarterback Dak Prescott has delivered.

He’s taking the coaching of Kitna and applying it, which is helping his accuracy. There have already been plenty of videos of Dak going deep to teammates such as Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, which has everyone fired up.

Gallup, for example, spoke on the way the offense is trying to open things up with Moore:

"“Kellen, he just, he’s showing a whole different way for everybody. He’s trying to change things up, put people in different spots. He’s trying to let Dak throw the deep ball because Dak wants to throw the deep ball. Kellen coming in here, he’s a younger guy just like us, so he’s thinking the same way we are. He wants to take the big shots, have a fun game.” — Gallup on the Cowboys throwing deep in camp, via RJ Ochoa of Blogging the Boys."

For the past couple of seasons, the Cowboys have struggled to generate plays downfield. Oftentimes, the belief has been that No. 4 is the reason why. However, he has shown some accuracy in this department, especially when trying to go to Cooper.

Should he continue to have success when ripping it deep, this could be a big year for the Dallas offense. And it will only make us all question why Scott Linehan stuck around so long for in the first place.
