Streaming Quarterbacks

For many years now, the idea of streaming a position has centered around the tight end and defense/special teams positions. Now, doing so at quarterback may be even more popular. Assuming you’re in a 10- or 12-man league, it is easy to believe 16-18 quarterbacks are on rosters, with some teams wanting a backup on their bench.

So, that leaves owners looking to stream quarterbacks with approximately 12 available quarterbacks on a week-to-week basis to choose from. Whether you are trying to find the best matchup or a quarterback who is simply on a hot streak, this may be the best way to go.

Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen are two fantastic choices. When it comes to Cousins, he had three straight top-10 fantasy seasons in Washington before moving on to a better situation with Minnesota. Following a poor fantasy season where he actually owned career high completion percentage and threw for a carer-high number of touchdowns, he has been ranked lower than most years, sitting at the QB19 according to Fantasy Pros.

Allen got incredibly hot last year at the end of the season, which is why he may be the perfect choice to be considered a streaming option in 219. From Week 12-17, Allen put up 26.3, 28.74, 18.34, 19.76, 11.68, and a whopping 40.46 in Week 17. In that period, he was QB1 in fantasy football.

If that doesn’t give you enough reason to possible stream quarterbacks, here is one last look.

Tom Brady (yes, Tom Brady), Matthew Stafford and Derek Carr are ranked 20th or lower per Fantasy Pros’ consensus quarterback rankings. These are three guys who have all finished in the top 10 at the position, including Brady and Stafford, who did it as recently as 2017. With options like these more than likely being available to stream (or even as consistent options to roster), waiting on quarterback remains incredible viable.
