For the Chicago Bears, there are certain players who have a lot to prove. They need to show that they are worthy to contribute to this team’s success.

Well, the Chicago Bears‘ training camp is in full swing. While they’re hitting each other, they are just a week away from hitting players other than their own teammates.

The Bears have most of their roster pretty much set. Starters, for the most part, are known. The team is now setting the depth and trying to get the right guys to help the starters. In addition, there are players hoping to get a chance to contribute. They might be on the outside looking in trying to show they deserve to be on this team.

On the other hand, there are players who did contribute at one point or another but who are getting pushed by the supposed “bubble” guys. They may have had a position on the team but that position is tenuous now.

Even some of the starters cannot breathe easy. As I mentioned, the starters are pretty much set, but not completely. There could be some surprises at the end of camp. Some players we pegged in as starters might end up being backups. That is the fun of training camp. Every training camp brings in surprises and this one won’t be any different.

Aside from the absolute starters (Mitch Trubisky, Khalil Mack, Eddie Jackson, etc.), the players have a lot of pressure on their shoulders. They want to impress the coaches and want to move up on the depth chart.

As this training camp progresses we’ll keep track of these players who need to prove something. If they fail to do so, they might find themselves either buried deep on the bench or find themselves looking for a job.
