4. New York Jets, Week 11 (Nov. 17)

Like the Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets drafted a quarterback in the first-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. They went with Sam Darnold, someone who many believe is a star in the making. Darnold didn’t have a great rookie year, but caught fire towards the end. Outside of Baker Mayfield, Darnold was the quarterback that had the most hype in the 2018 draft class.

Without Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns on the Washington Redskins regular season schedule this year, that means this is the biggest “measuring stick” game for Dwayne Haskins. Again, this kind of depends on if Haskins is even playing at this point. However, even if he’s not, there’s still a lot of intrigue in this game.

First of all, it’s another “winnable” game for the Redskins, especially considering the fact that they’re playing at home. Washington definitely isn’t a bad team but they’re not heading into the season looking like world-beaters. Sure, they have all the potential in the world but are probably a little bit away from taking that next step. Therefore, those “winnable” games should be coveted at the moment.

Most importantly, though, the Jets have a fun roster. Darnold could take a major step forward at quarterback. Meanwhile, Le’Veon Bell is now on the roster and they have an intriguing wide receiver corps, including ex-Redskins slot receiver Jamison Crowder.

Defensively, they have more studs like Jamal Adams, C.J. Mosley, Leonard Williams and Trumaine Johnson. Of course, rookie Quinnen Williams will be a ton of fun to watch as well.

That’s a talented defense with a plethora of young potential stars, kind of like the Redskins. The prospect of seeing those two defenses in the same game should be enough to get anyone excited for this matchup, even if the two teams aren’t exactly Super Bowl contenders in 2019.
