2020 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders hit reset at quarterback, Jets get star on edge
By Randy Gurzi
3. Arizona Cardinals: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
This offseason wasn’t handled very well by the Arizona Cardinals decision-makers. After giving up on Steve Wilks following just one season, they hired a coach in Kliff Kingsbury who just had a losing record at Texas Tech. Even with that being the case, he had other suitors and is a well-respected offensive mind. He was also a huge fan of Kyler Murray.
Arizona ended up taking Murray first overall this season, which was expected considering Kingbury’s fondness for the Heisman Trophy winner. What wasn’t expected was the way they danced around the subject and left Josh Rosen hanging all year long — and even claimed he was their guy at times. Rosen was finally sent to the Miami Dolphins, where he will try and get his career rolling.
As weird as it all was when going down, the Cards did end up landing a pretty impressive draft haul, especially on offense. Murray will have Hakeem Butler, Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson joining him. Those players, as well as Christian Kirk‘s presence, make the future look bright in the desert, as long as they can keep Murray from being beaten up.
That’s why they go for an offensive lineman here in Andrew Thomas. Currently, Thomas is fighting for the right to be the first tackle taken in the draft and he does just that in our 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
