The Cleveland Browns keep the hype train rolling as they face the Washington Redskins in Week 1 of the NFL preseason. Here’s how fans can watch the game.
No team in the NFL is as polarizing as the Cleveland Browns entering the 2019 season and for good reason. The Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr., Freddie Kitchens train is rolling and everyone will be watching. Their first matchup of the 2019 NFL preseason will see them welcome Dwayne Haskins and the Washington Redskins to FirstEnergy Stadium on Thursday night.
As much hype as there is around Mayfield and Beckham, it remains to be seen how much they’ll play in Week 1 of the preseason. While that may be so, the Browns will get their first in-game look at guys like Greedy Williams, Sione Takitaki and Mack Wilson. More importantly, perhaps, guys like Antonio Callaway and Austin Corbett will have the opportunity to prove their worth for this up-and-coming team.
Meanwhile, Haskins will get his first look at NFL action in this game, which should be a ton of fun to watch, especially with guys like Kelvin Harmon and Terry McLaurin, two rookies, catching balls from him. Furthermore, some rookie defenders like Jimmy Moreland and maybe Montez Sweat will also get in on the fun, giving Washington more players to focus on.
Even if the star players sit, this could be one of the most high-profile matchups of NFL Preseason Week 1, meaning NFL fans should be ready to tune into the action.

It’s difficult to say if we’ll see the full new-look Browns on the field for this game against the Redskins. Even if we don’t — or at least don’t see much of them — this should still be fun to see this hyped-up Cleveland team. And with Haskins also making his first go at NFL action, this is a must-watch game in Week 1 of the NFL preseason.
