The final game on tap Preseason Week 1 is the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Dallas Cowboys. Here’s all the info you need in order to catch the game.
Last season, the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers had opposite expectations and finished on opposite ends of the spectrum — although neither finished the way they were expected to.
The 49ers were entering their first season in the Jimmy Garoppolo era and hopes were high. They finished 5-0 with him under center after picking him up in a trade with the New England Patriots and they became one of the sexy picks to make the playoffs in the NFL.
However, Jimmy G and the Niners got off to a slow start and then things got worse when he tore his ACL. With their franchise quarterback sidelined, the fell to 4-12 on the season and started planning for 2019 early.
Dallas, on the other hand, didn’t have many believers as they were trying to start the season with a no-name receiving corps after releasing Dez Bryant. A 3-4 start ensued and they finally admitted they were wrong and then traded for Amari Cooper.
They lost their first game with No. 19 but then reeled off seven wins in the final nine games to go 10-6 and win the NFC East. Still, questions remain as they’re moving onto a brand new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore. There’s also a huge dark cloud over the team as running back Ezekiel Elliott is holding out as he seeks a new contract.
The offseason is long and hard to endure, but the games are about to kick off as these two old rivals take the field against one another in Preseason Week 1.

Neither team is expected to play their starters much at all. This game will be all about knocking the rust off, but it’s still football and it means the offseason is finally behind us.
