NFL Power Rankings 2019: Raiders have helmet issues, Browns hype grows

27. Washington Redskins (22)
Ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, the rumors began that the Washington Redskins were about to own the draft — which was a scary prospect for fans who know that their owner has had a history of overpaying for quarterbacks, and the team needed one as Alex Smith isn’t back from his gruesome broken leg. Fans breathed a sigh of relief when they landed a signal-caller, without moving at all.
Dwayne Haskins was the choice, but his debut was less than desirable. He threw two interceptions, one of which was just a terrible pass as it appeared he was throwing it to Cleveland defensive back Greedy Williams. He did throw some beautiful passes as well, but there’s clearly some work to do which was expected given his lack of experience while at Ohio State.
Should that continue to be an issue, Case Keenum will likely be the starter this year. That’s not the best news but he can at least be a decent game manager, which is what they brought him in to be.
Washington didn’t unleash their other first-round pick yet, however, as Montez Sweat has been dealing with a calf injury. They still have a bright future as they had a really good draft, but it will take time for it all to fall into place.
