NFL trades have been more exciting recently and that could only continue, so what five players should be traded either before Week 1 or by the deadline?

Just a couple of years ago, NFL trades seemed relatively uncommon. Particularly in comparison to something like the NBA Trade Deadline, the NFL Trade Deadline and other deals throughout the year appeared to come and go with anything but a whimper. Over the past year (and maybe more), that’s changed a great deal.

Coming into the 2018 season, the Oakland Raiders dropped a bomb on the NFL by trading Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears. The Raiders again popped up around the trade deadline as they dealt wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys. As Jon Gruden’s team netted a first-round pick in each deal, things with NFL trades seemed to be taking a big turn.

That has certainly continued throughout the 2019 offseason. The New York Giants and Cleveland Browns sent shockwaves through the league with trades involving Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon and Kevin Zeitler. Furthermore, the Kansas City Chiefs dealt Dee Ford to the San Francisco 49ers and then traded with the Seattle Seahawks for Frank Clark.

Even now that training camp has arrived, though, NFL trade rumors and deals haven’t stopped. Trade demands and holdouts are rampant throughout the league, leading to moves and potential moves throughout the country. In fact, the Browns just recently dealt running back Duke Johnson to the Houston Texans.

Johnson may not be the only player in this type of situation that gets moved, though. There are other NFL players that are in a position where they could be traded, either before Week 1 of the 2019 season or by the trade deadline.

Let’s take a look at five NFL trade candidates and the top destinations for those players, starting out in the Bay Area.
