1. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys

From the moment that the Dallas Cowboys selected Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 draft, the running back has been a dynamic force. Even with his infamous six-game suspension in 2017, Elliott has still rushed for 4,048 yards, accrued 1,199 receiving yards and found the end zone 34 times in 40 games (28 rushing, six receiving).

However, Elliott is currently holding out of Cowboys training camp in search of a new contract. While many believed early on Jerry Jones and company would make it happen, things have been a bit more contentious. From the Cowboys maintaining that they can win without Elliott on the roster and that they won’t reset the market to Elliott asserting that he won’t play in 2019 without a new deal, it’s not a great situation right now.

The Cowboys are now left in a tough situation as they try to determine the value of a star running back to their success. While they could well break the bank, they could also elect to trade Elliott. In fact, that might be their best course of action at this point. It would free them up a bit moving forward financially while letting some other team give Elliott what he wants and just finding a replacement for him in Dallas.

Top Possible Destination: Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis has viable Super Bowl aspirations for the 2019 season — if Andrew Luck is healthy, of course. While they have good reason to believe in Marlon Mack, Elliott would be a tremendous upgrade in the offense and a player that could put them even more seriously in the hunt to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
