New England Patriots: Game-by-game predictions for the 2019 season
By Adam Patrick
Week 7: New York Jets (Away)
After a Thursday night game against the Giants, the Patriots will have 10 days of rest before a divisional matchup against the Jets on Monday Night Football. As if getting a win wasn’t already going to be super difficult for New York, they get to take on a New England team that gets a ton of time to prepare for the game.
However, the Patriots have just one victory in their last four Monday night matchups outside of their home stadium. At the same time, New England is 5-1 since 2015 in games that come a week after playing on a Thursday.
Oh, and the Jets have only defeated the Patriots once in their last 10 tries. So good luck to New York, because they’re going to need a lot of it to walk out of this matchup with a win.
Prediction: Win (6-1)
Week 8: Cleveland Browns (Home)
Just like New England had extra time to prepare for their Monday night game against the Jets, the Browns are going to have a full two weeks to get ready for this matchup with the Patriots.
Cleveland has their bye in Week 7, meaning they will have a ton of time to prepare for their big trip to New England. Throw in the fact that the Patriots will be coming off a short week because of their Monday night game against New York and the Browns have the potential to walk away with an upset.
Don’t be surprised if Cleveland is able to leave the field with their first victory in New England since 1992.
Prediction: Loss (6-2)
