Penn State. Yetur Gross-Matos. 27. player. 54. . EDGE

The Philadelphia Eagles have sported one of the very best defenses in the NFL over recent years. Their defensive lines, in particular, have been immaculate groups that produced equally as much in the run and pass game. 2019 should again boast a strong unit up front.

The lone question mark is the depth at defensive end. The loss of Chris Long and Michael Bennett has been somewhat undersold this offseason.

The Eagles are able to lock up a high upside pass rusher with their selection in Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos. A little rough around the edges, Gross-Matos has all the talent to eventually round into a potential 10-sack per year producer. A high upside pick, it is possible that down the road Yetur Gross-Matos could be the best first-round value in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Georgia. Richard LeCounte. 28. player. 46. . S

There is no team that has had as big an overhaul of talent in recent years than the Indianapolis Colts. That makes most draft options for them luxury picks. One thing still stands true, you can never have enough defensive backs in today’s passing era.

The Colts have a potential young star in free safety Malik Hooker. Outside of him, there isn’t a ton of plays being made at the safety position. Starting strong safety Clayton Geathers does some admirable things against the run, but going into his fifth season, he is still waiting for his first career interception.

Adding a player like Georgia’s Richard LeCounte provides the ability to be very multiple in the back end. Whether you want to play him in a traditional safety role or as a nickel, your secondary immediately improves leaps and bounds. Look for LeCounte to improve his draft stock big time over the next couple months. He has all the making of the second first-round safety behind LSU’s Grant Delpit.
