The Indianapolis Colts fell just short in Week 2 of the preseason against the Browns but which players were the standout performers in the loss?

After a second-half comeback, the Indianapolis Colts had a final drive to try and top the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 of the 2019 preseason. However, a failed fourth-down conversion attempt in Browns territory fell short, allowing the visitors to get the ball back and take a knee to run out the clock, securing a 21-18 win over the Colts.

As expected, there was no Andrew Luck for Indianapolis on Saturday as the quarterback continues to raise concern among fans with his mysterious injury. Meanwhile, guys like T.Y. Hilton and a handful of others didn’t see the field against the Browns either. That, however, opened the door for other players to step up and make a name for themselves.

Who accomplished that feat, though? These were the Indianapolis Colts standouts from Saturday’s tough preseason loss to the Browns.

Notable Omissions

Chad Kelly once again stepped in as the fourth-string quarterback and impressed. He looked confident and resilient when on the field, going 12-of-17 for 115 yards passing. Had he been able to successfully orchestrate a late-game comeback win, he surely would’ve been a standout for the Colts but he falls just short.

Edge-rusher Kemoko Turay had a great game getting after the Browns quarterbacks and generally wreaking havoc on Saturday. He finished the game with three total tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss. The Rutgers product has always had physical gifts and potential and he could be on the verge of realizing that potential.

After breaking out last season, Eric Ebron looks poised to be a red zone threat again. He finished Saturday’s game with just two catches for 28 yards in limited playing time but one of his receptions was for a touchdown. He’s found new life in Indianapolis and it’s seemingly just beginning.
