2. Washington Redskins

When you look at the wide receiver corps for the Washington Redskins, there are players that you can be optimistic about. At the same time, though, there are essentially no players that fans or anyone else should feel confident in. Whether the players are young, unproven or both, the group of pass-catchers for the Redskins is a bit uninspiring.

Josh Doctson is a former first-round pick still waiting to make an impact. Paul Richardson was a bit of a bust as a free-agent addition last season. Terry McLaurin and Kelvin Harmon are unproven rookies while Trey Quinn and Robert Davis are unproven second-year plays. It’s just not a group that appears ready to make an impact.

In that situation, the Redskins would be wise to look at a Laquon Treadwell trade and see the potential to improve their chances. At this point in his career and with his lackluster performance, Treadwell is a dart throw as to if he can actually be an effective NFL receiver. But that’s virtually every wide receiver on the Washington roster right now — so why not improve the odds of hitting a bullseye by adding another player to the mix.

The Redskins hope that Dwayne Haskins can be their franchise quarterback moving forward and can take over the job as a rookie. Whether he does or not, he or any Washington quarterback needs quality options to throw to. Treadwell would increase the chance of that actually happening.
