NFL Power Rankings 2019: Patriots get Josh Gordon, Chargers lose Derwin James

20. Washington Redskins (27)
By now, why won’t the Washington Redskins just name Dwayne Haskins the starting quarterback for the 2019 season?
With all of the issues the Redskins were dealing with towards the end of last season at quarterback, there were some questions over the team’s decision to acquire Case Keenum during the offseason.
There’s a reason why the Denver Broncos were willing to get Keenum off their hands after only one season, and while it was clear the veteran was only the short-term answer, playing Haskins right away could end up working wonders.
In a way, Washington had every reason to believe that drafting the former Ohio State star in the draft was a complete steal after watching him slip a bit in the first round.
And after watching Haskins perform the way he did against the Cincinnati Bengals by throwing for 114 yards to go along with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Robert Davis, the Redskins would be foolish not to play the rookie quarterback right away.
The sooner Haskins starts under center for Washington, the quicker he can reach the necessary level to help the Redskins compete in the NFC East.
Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys may be viewed as the favorites in the division at the moment, but if Haskins starts, and shines as a rookie, Washington could be a surprise contender.
