NFL Power Rankings 2019: Patriots get Josh Gordon, Chargers lose Derwin James
By Dan Parzych
18. Tennessee Titans (17)
First off, Tennessee Titans have every reason in the world to feel frustrated over that unnecessary leap by Marcus Mariota into the end zone when taking on the New England Patriots since the last thing they can afford to do is lose their starting quarterback over an injury.
Over the last few years, Mariota has received plenty of criticism for being viewed as a fragile quarterback with his history of injuries, and if something were to happen over a play like that from preseason, one can only what the frustration would have been like from the fan base.
Even if some will say that Tennessee would still be in great shape with Ryan Tannehill, the play from Mariota was avoidable, and this is all that matters.
Hopefully, Mariota sees the backlash he’s been receiving for the risky play and is a little extra cautious over the next two weeks, that is assuming he sees some sort of action.
After coming up just shy of earning a trip to the playoffs last year on top of numerous key adjustments, many believe the Titans have what it takes to be one of the best teams in the AFC during the 2019 season.
But if this is going to have any shot at happening, Mariota is going to need to stay healthy.
