NFL Power Rankings 2019: Patriots get Josh Gordon, Chargers lose Derwin James

17. Green Bay Packers (11)
After missing out on the playoffs two years in a row, the Green Bay Packers would love nothing more than to see that unfortunate streak end in 2019 now that Matt LaFleur is on board calling the shots at head coach.
At least for LaFleur, the head coach’s job should be much easier to deal with since Aaron Rodgers is one of the most competitive quarterbacks in the league, and will be extra motivated to help the Packers return to the playoffs.
Rightfully so, Rodgers sat out during the team’s recent game against the Baltimore Ravens since the last thing Green Bay needs to deal with is to watch their star quarterback put himself at risk to another injury.
Too many times over the last two seasons, Rodgers has dealt with injuries, and everyone already knows what he’s capable of on offense for the Packers, meaning the team can afford to rest him in preseason if needed.
As for the actual game against Baltimore, well it will be interesting to see if players like Allen Lazard (three catches for 63 yards) have what it takes to make a case for a roster spot.
With a younger group of receivers compared to previous seasons, Rodgers will need as many players as they can get to step up to put Green Bay in better position.
