NFL Power Rankings 2019: Patriots get Josh Gordon, Chargers lose Derwin James

29. Oakland Raiders (32)
Whether the Oakland Raiders like it or not, Antonio Brown’s status is going to be the popular topic of discussion until the speedy wideout proves there are no injury concerns.
During the offseason, the Raiders made a key move by acquiring Brown from the Pittsburgh Steelers to provide Derek Carr with one of the most reliable receivers in the NFL. Once Brown returns to full strength, one can only imagine how much of a difference he’s going to make on offense for Oakland.
But since that timetable is still up in the air, the main focus on the moment was how good the Raiders looked during their recent win over the Arizona Cardinals in preseason.
As great as it was to see Carr complete a touchdown pass during the limited time he spent on the field, Oakland also had plenty of reasons to be pleased over Mike Glennon completing 11 of 14 passes for 175 yards with two touchdowns.
Glennon certainly doesn’t have what it takes to compete with Carr for the starting job, but when seeing how difficult it can be to find reliable backup quarterbacks these days in the NFL, at least the Raiders should feel confident just in case.
