If the Dallas Cowboys end up trading Ezekiel Elliott due to his holdout, the Indianapolis Colts would be foolish not to consider the possibility.

Would the Indianapolis Colts ever consider the thought of trading for Ezekiel Elliott if the Dallas Cowboys ever decided they were tired of the star running back holding out, and wanted to get him off their hands?

Any sort of trade talk surrounding Elliott may sound ridiculous to even consider when looking at how quickly the former Ohio State star has become a top running back in the NFL, but also crazier things have taken place in the NFL.

Take a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers for instance, who pulled off the unthinkable this offseason by sending Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders, despite the fact that the speedy wideout led the league in touchdown catches (15) during the 2019 season.

If a team like the Steelers were willing to trade Brown away, who’s to say the Cowboys wouldn’t ever do the same with Elliott?

Despite having two years remaining on his rookie contract, Elliott has been absent from training camp and preseason while holding out for a hefty new contract.

Seeing how Elliott’s first three NFL seasons have consisted of 5,247 yards from scrimmage to go along with 34 trips into the end zone, it’s easy to understand his frustration over wanting a major pay raise.

Not to mention, when seeing how much money other running backs such as Todd Gurley and Le’Veon Bell are making, well why wouldn’t this bother Elliott?

Only time will tell when it comes to seeing how this situation in Dallas plays out for Elliott, but at this point, it never hurts to discuss certain trade scenarios, especially with a team such as the Colts.
